COVERSA was established to offer the victims
of sexual assault an alternative choice to a busy, Emergency
Department. This has been done by providing a community-based center
where professionals trained to respond to their needs will be present. COVERSA provides services to victims at hospital sites as well. We
work with hospitals to establish an area away from the Emergency
Department where the forensic or "post assault" examinations
can be performed after they have had a medical evaluation. Our organization has constant needs to help sustain our community
center as well as provide the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) to
provide our services there and at hospital sites. We also provide SANE
Training twice yearly and provide educational opportunities to the
